PASTOR’S WEEKLY MESSAGE

This coming Sunday is the Sixth Sunday of Easter.  The gospel for this worship service on May 10th is John 14:15-21 and Pastor Hout’s sermon theme will be “True Love.”  Join us for Sunday worship services at 10:30 (led by the pipe organ) and noon (led by guitar).  We also have Sunday School at 9am each week.  You are invited to join us as we learn about ourselves and God.

The Prayers of the Church  We are excited that Allen Hasken comes home this week.  We believe Sidney Wagner is also getting closer to coming home again.  We just heard Jake Cummins is in the hospital so we are praying for him along with Brad Ross, Paul T. Schultz, Carl Schroeder, Darleen Payne, Steve Kash, Bill
Jackle, Lee Kash, Katie Schultz and family, Helen Termuhlen, Jean Hicks, Lois Masters, Frankie Rost and Wyatt Dahlinghaus.  Peace is on our minds and we are praying for that along with our military men: Steve Greenlee, Ben Sweeney, Zac Boyd and Alex Eanes.

Our Prayer of the Day - Fifth Sunday of Easter  Almighty and ever living God, you hold together all things in heaven and on earth.  In your great mercy receive the prayers of all your children, and give to all the world the Spirit of your truth and peace, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.

Easter Sunday was great and so was Holy Hilarity Sunday  We are really enjoying this Easter Season with lots of powerful worship services filled with such great and wonderful news.  He has risen.....he has risen, indeed!!!

Go Triangles  How fun it is to share some of our amazing history.  Just this past Sunday we were able to talk to a visitor about George “Hobby” Kinderdine.  He was surprised to hear of this Dayton Triangle great who kicked the first extra point in the NFL.  Some of his old jerseys have even been with us for worship services on his birthday.  The Historical Society had a wonderful exhibit about him and the Dayton Daily News printed a nice article about Hobby which included some talk about good old St. Jacob!!!

Some scripture from the gospel for Sunday - John 14:15....Jesus said to the disciples, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

Love is perhaps the only glimpse we are permitted of eternity.

My you enjoy lots of love in this new year of 2026.
